Our Story
Purest Jazz Records is a record label based in Vancouver, Canada and Tokyo, Japan. We are a member of the Rufus Lin Productions group of labels, owned by Yuyosoft Innovations Inc.
Our focus is on releasing new interpretations of the Great American Songbook, with a focus on tunes from the 1920s to 1950s. Our artists are currently working jazz singers and musicians from Japan who perform in traditional jazz styles such as swing, bebop and latin jazz, and we update the arrangements with a touch of electronic music, for color.
We are presently focusing our attention on musicians working in the Tokyo jazz scene, which is an extremely rich source of jazz talent and artistry. In Tokyo, it is not unusual to come across jazz performers who have returned to their home country after decades of working in small jazz clubs in the USA or Europe.

Rufus Lin
Rufus Lin is a Canadian jazz performer and recording artist, as well as a classical composer, based in Vancouver and Tokyo. For over ten years, he has given jazz concerts once every two months in Tokyo–in recent years, these have been on a Fazioli grand piano at Shibuya Hall. He currently performs jazz piano live almost every day on streaming platforms such as Clubhouse and Instagram Live. Rufus Lin has released several albums and singles, both as CDs and on streaming platforms such as “Amazon Music, ” Apple Music” and “Spotify”. These albums vary in genre, including healing piano, contemporary classical and jazz standards. As a composer of classical music, he has published a variety of pieces for orchestras, choirs, ensembles and solo instruments. Some of these pieces have been performed in Japan and South Korea.
